Cognicom is a San Diego company with decades of experience in the communications and datalink business. Our team has very deep technical know-hows ranging from high-level modeling of theoretical communications concepts to the details in the life cycles of fielded products. We have expertise in all technical areas including simulations, modeling, system architecture and project management, FPGA and hardware implementations, design-to-cost, certifications and productions. We are a very tight, agile, and lean team, always ready to move fast to bring innovations from concepts to productions with a productivity level well surpassing any established company in the business.

Michael Twyman

Michael Twyman serves as President of Wizard Defense as well as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at FON Holdings where he applies his 30+ years of National Security solution experience to drive the creation and implementation of business strategies to advance organic and inorganic growth for command, control, computers, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technologies. Prior to Wizard Defense, Mike was President of Cubic Mission Solutions. Mike created a dual use technology portfolio developing leading positions in protected communications and networking, restricted space, New Space (commercial LEO/MEO/GEO), digital intelligence, and 5G/IoT markets.

Lawrence Hollister

Lawrence provides leadership for the overall corporate strategy and growth development efforts to support the needs of Cognicom’s full customer set. Prior to Cognicom, Lawrence was a growth and strategy Vice President in Cubic’s Mission Solutions business unit. Prior to his role at Cubic, Lawrence has held multiple executive leadership positions. At Maxar (DigitalGlobe), Lawrence was the Vice President for US Government Growth and Strategy. At L3Harris, he served as General Manager and site lead opening and managing the L3Harris Tampa location centralizing three large divisions’ efforts in one customer centric location.

Dr. Prasad Gudem

Prasad Gudem received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1996. He was Vice President of Engineering at Qualcomm until 2018 and led the development of multiple generations of cellular transceivers that sold over three billion chips and used in top-tier products such as iPhone, Samsung, etc. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California at San Diego. He has 50+ patents and 50+ IEEE publications. He co-advised 15+ Ph.D. students, taught several graduate-level classes and a recipient of the Graduate Teaching Award.
